Lactic Peel
Recommended for: Dehydration, uneven texture/tone, congested skin, dull, photo-damaged skins, superficial pigmentation.
What is it?
Lactic acid gives an exceptional boost to your skin, refining skin texture, providing deep hydration and minimising fine lines and wrinkles. Even the most temperamental of skins can enjoy all of the benefits without irritation. Your therapist will select one of the following peels, according to your skin type:

Primary Pumpkin Peel
Recommended for: Oily-combination skin, congestion, acne
This peel has been designed to combat acne concerns, congestion and enlarged pores. The antibacterial effect of salicylic acid helps treat and prevent breakouts and reduce pore blockages, while the lactic acid encourages hydration within skin cells and improves overall texture, tone and brightness.

Containing 30% vitamin A and 20% lactic acid, this peel hydrates, lightens, tightens and perfects the skin.
Downtime: up to 3-5 days of mild to moderate peeling

Aspect Power Peel
Recommended for: deep lines/wrinkles, stubborn pigmentation, post acne scarring, problem skin, sun damage, stretch marks.
What is it? The unique three-step Aspect Professional Power Peel system contains a powerful blend of kojic acid, mandelic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinol and emblica. The actives work synergistically to deliver improved skin texture, clarity and visibly brighter skin.
It’s three treatments (two in clinic and one at home) spaced six weeks apart.
Downtime: Skin will feel sensitive for 2-3 days. Moderate to deep peeling for 2-4 days. Then moderate flaking to be expected for up to 7 more days.

Cosmelan Peel
Recommended for: Pigmentation
What is it? The Cosmelan Peel/Depigmentation Peel is a breakthrough treatment that utilises a 2 phased approach to eliminate dark patches caused by melanin deposits. First, it deactivates a critical enzyme in the production of melanin responsible for the formation of dark spots. Secondly, it utilises a proprietary blend of bleaching agents and botanical ingredients to eliminate existing excess pigment deposits. You will see a 70-95% reduction in pigmentation after one treatment.
The Cosmelan peel is compatible with all skin types and colours and can be used all year round because of its very high safety margin.

We do things a little bit differently from other places. Many other salons simply perform facials without any discussion, much like a massage, without imparting any advice to help people with their concerns. Some don’t even require you to fill in a consultation form. At The Sanctuary, during your first skin care appointment, we always do a complimentary skin consultation. In this consultation, we will discuss what you have written on your consultation form and we will take a good look at your skin under a diagnostic light. Then, we’ll discuss your specific skin concerns and prescribe a full skin care regime, personalised just for you. We take this approach because we genuinely want to help people improve their skin. We have seen our products work extremely effectively, to combat many skin concerns and believe that it is our job to assist you in combating your particular concerns. Whether you try just one, or all of the products recommended to you, or choose not you decide to follow our advice, it is completely up to you. We never want you to feel pressured to buy our products. At the end of the day, we are happy if you leave feeling nurtured, with better looking skin – and more informed about how you can treat your specific skin concerns. Because that’s our job!
Pre and Post Peel Care
Skin must be prepped with appropriate homecare for 2-4 weeks prior to any Lactic Acid 30/40%, Jungle Brew, Cabernet au Chocolat, Pigment Punch, Benefit, Deep Sea and Timeless Peels. Preferably this will be a product that contains a good strength AHA and topical vitamin A. If you have a medium to dark complexion, you should also apply ‘Lytera’ or ‘Simply Brilliant’, (tyrosinaise inhibiting serums) pre and post peel in order to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation. Use of AHAs and topical vitamin A should be discontinued for 48 hours pre and post treatment. You should avoid vigorous exercise for 2-3 hours prior to any peel and avoid direct sun exposure post peel.
